Today I have another expert interview for
you that I am positive at least a few of you
will be interested in.


Today's interview is with Brendan McCarthy, I
crossed pathes with Brendan probably 4-5 yrs
ago right when he was just starting his practice
and recently I stumbled back acrossed him
via that wonderful piece of most of our lives
called Facebook

In my re-aquaintance I found out that part of his
practice is the HCG Diet so I decided to reach
out to him and see if he would share the inside
scoop about it.

Instead of google searches and listening to friends
I figured you would like to hear from someone who

I've decided to give this a try [Day1 today] have you come up with any workout plan to go with this. My Dr said to do only once a week, she also has me on a @600 cal diet!?!?!

Here some info for you to work with:

-- The Dr in the interview mainly suggested to do light aerobic activity i.e. walking etc.. and some light body weight exercise.


That said I think this could be any opportunity to do some quality strength work in very low volumes. I might liken it to some grease the groove type of training.

In regards to kettlbell use I think this would mean you'd be best served by little none ballistic movements.

I think I might do something of the follow for my workouts if I were on this type of program:

Workout 1 -- 2-3 x 5 reps -- Dbl kettlebell front squats and Dbl kettlebell presses

Workout 2 -- 1 Max Rep Set -- Push-ups -- Pull-ups (or pulling variant) -- Regular or Side Plank (max hold)

Workout 3 -- Get-ups -- 5,4,3,2,1 x 1 using ascending weight.

Think these 3 simple little workout will keep you strength levels up without over fatiguing you and being adverse to the diet.

I think if you were on 1,000kcal or so we could up the volume a bit but with the amount you are on
I would say to start with this conservative program. Although I do know of people who had been training consistently prior to starting and kept with their training throug the entire program.


By the way did you do photos or some some sort of measurement prior to starting the program and how will you be tracking progress?
